Reactive programming has gained significant traction in modern web development, and RxJS (Reactive Extensions for JavaScript) is one of the most powerful libraries for handling asynchronous data streams in a reactive manner. But like any technology, RxJS has its strengths and weaknesses. In this article, we’ll explore:

What is RxJS?

RxJS (Reactive Extensions for JavaScript) is a library for composing asynchronous and event-driven programs using Observables. It is based on the Observer pattern, Iterator pattern, and Functional Programming techniques.

Key Concepts in RxJS:

  1. Observables — Data streams that emit values over time.
  2. Observers — Consumers of observables that react to emitted values.
  3. Operators — Functions that manipulate data streams (e.g., map, filter, merge).
  4. Subjects — Special types of observables that allow multicasting.
  5. Subscriptions — Mechanism to start receiving values from an observable.

RxJS is widely used for handling complex asynchronous operations, making it a crucial tool for frontend and backend developers working with JavaScript or TypeScript.

import { Observable, Subject, of, interval } from 'rxjs';
import { map, filter, take } from 'rxjs/operators';

/**
* 1️⃣ Observables - Data streams that emit values over time
*/
const myObservable = new Observable<number>((observer) => {…
